WoW Cooking - A Chef with Style!
Before the BC and WOTLK expansions have been released, cooking wasn’t really appreciated compared to other professions. Cooking is a secondary profession and therefore it is optional however, it is a very interesting and fun profession which is one of the reasons why many players decide to level it. Why is cooking so interesting?
There is a number of players who want to level up Cooking for fun, to be able to make the best food in game, to do cooking achievements and receive the famous “Chef” title, and of course, because Cooking is a quite profitable profession. As you can tell from all of the stated, cooking offers many possibilities.
A perfect couple
While levelling cooking a good advice would be to level up fishing as you move along. These two professions, when paired, will speed up the leveling of Cooking and can bring you loads of profit even though you can level them both separately.
Hail to the Chef
The “Chef” title has also become one of the most wanted titles since it isn’t easy to reach it. If you are going for this title keep in mind that you will have to accomplish a list of different cooking achievements. Some achievements will ask you to do a lot of daily quests from Outland as well as from Northrend and learn various recipes.
Why are the dailies so important?
In the BC expansion players were introduced to the cooking dailies which gave some gold and nice rewards to anyone who was regularly completing them. With the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, future Chefs were given new daily cooking quests found in Northrend’s capital Dalaran. Players of the Alliance need to visit Katherine Lee in the s/w inn (the Silver Enclave), while players of the Horde need to visit Awilo Lon'gomba (the Sunreaver's Inn). These two npcs will offer you five different quests on a daily basis: Infused Mushroom Meatloaf, Cheese for Glowergold, Convention at the Legerdemain, Sewer Stew and Mustard Dogs!
While doing these daily quests will earn you some extra gold and you will also receive a Dalaran Cooking Reward and a Small Spice Bag. In the bag you will always find a surprise such as an extra Dalaran Cooking Reward, Northern spices and sometimes you will be even lucky enough to receive a recipe. This bag also contains some special spices like Baby Spice and Old Spice. This spice doesn’t have any practical use and is used just for fun since it can resize a targeted player and make him tiny.
Dalaran Cooking Rewards are used for purchasing new recipes that are used to make better food. With a 100 of these you will be able to buy a special item the Chef’s hat and accomplish one of the cooking achievements - Cooking with Style. Even though pricey, the Chef’s hat is very useful since you will be able to cook faster. Dalaran Cooking Rewards are also used to purchase more of Northern spices. Food made from these is the best food in the game and it can be sold for a lot of gold on the Auction House.
Tips for fast dailies
As you know the daily quests are random but nevertheless you can be prepared when it comes to your inventory. For most of these quests you will need to have Chilled Meat and for a Mustard Dogs! quest you will be asked to prepare some Rhino Dogs from the Rhino Meat. Farming these meats in advance will save you a lot of time. With all the maths at hand a cooking daily can be finished in just a few minutes.
