Warlock – Fearsome being
Playing a Warlock can bring you loads of fun. They are dark casters that use fire and shadow spells to devastate their opponents. Since they are interested for the “dark arts”, they are highly skilled in demonology. Because of this they are able to summon demons like imps, succubus, fel hounds, void walkers and infernals. Locks are one of the two classes that can use pets and similar to the Hunter class, Locks too can have a pet by their side at most of the times if their build allows them.
Having a pet at your side makes the game a lot easier especially because you can usually avoid taking many hits. The Warlock himself casts mostly damaging spells like shadow bolts. Another ability that contributed to the overall popularity of Locks is “fear”, which is can make their opponents run around for a few seconds without the ability to do anything about it. The Warlock is also well-known for their DoTs aka Damage Over Time spells that can do a great amount of damage during a certain period of time. Because of these spells, a good Warlock is feared in PvP, and can top damage meters in PvE. In PvP a Warlock can fear his opponents while applying dots on his target an in PvE he can spam Shadow Bolts and other great spells.
On top of a variety of damaging spells the Warlock has several other nice spells in his arsenal. One of these is the Dark Portal they can summon. This portal is frequently used in raids, and with this ability a Lock can summon players from afar to his current location. He will need a hand to summon a player. The Dark Portal can basically be used similar to the meeting stones that can be found in front of instances.
Another helpful ability a Lock has is to place a Soul Stone on a friendly player or himself. If a player is Soul Stoned he can resurrect on the spot upon death. This can greatly reduce the corps running time even though it has a cool down of half an hour. For a Lock, the Soul Stone is great while leveling and while in a party or raid the Soul Stone is usually applied to any player who can resurrect other players upon death (healer). A Warlock can also create Health Stones which function as healing potions and are actually more powerful because they restore more hit points. At the beginning, a Warlock can give the Health Stones to other players separately and on the higher levels he will be able to create a Soul Well where all the members of his raid or group can click to obtain one Health Stone. What is nice about the Health Stones is that they do not share the same cool down as Healing Potions which means that you can use the both of them in a longer fight.
The class of Warlocks is great to level up and play. Not only that you will have the abilities to summon many different demons as pets to fight for you, you will also have very destructive and strong damage spells, abilities to fear the enemies, and a couple of other very useful spells that will greatly improve your group’s performance. If you prefer to play caster classes and would like to level up fast, this class would be perfect for you!
