Death Knights –The World of Warcraft’s true heroes
The class of Death Knights is the latest available class in WoW. With the expansion ‘Wrath of the Lich King’ from 2008 this class became available to all WoW players. In the World of Warcraft, the DKs were introduced as a “Hero” class. However, this doesn’t mean that the DK class is stronger compared to any other class.
DKs’ system of attack is based on their runic power. There are two runes available for all types of spells and attacks, and these runes have a cooldown which is consumed when the spell/attack is used. The DK has three different types of runes: two Frost, Blood, and Unholy. Same goes for the talent trees a DK has – Frost, Blood and Unholy.

A Death Knight wears plate armor, deals melee damage and has several spells that can be cast from distance as well. A Death Knight can fulfill the role of a damage dealer and tank in a group or raid. A DK can use one-hander and two-hander weapons and cannot wield shields.
To be able to create a DK you will need to have a level 70 char. The nice thing about the Dead Knight is that you start at level 55. Another good point is that you will already have some money at disposal, set of bags and decent gear to continue your leveling.
Your DK char will start in the Eastern Plaguelands area - The Ebon Hold. At the start you need to fight on the side of the Lich King. You will be taking direct orders from the Lich King himself during the quest chains that you should complete in the areas around the Ebon Hold. Upon competitions of these quests you will receive the talent points you have missed and a bit better gear. Because you start at level 55 you have missed out on some talent points but you can earn these back through questing.

At the level 58 the quest chain you were on will change its course. You will be able to escape from the Lich King’s command and you will join his enemies to fight by their side. At this level you can go anywhere you want and continue your leveling, however the best choice for fast leveling will be the Outlands area. You will enter the Outlands with all your talent points, full blue gear and with a nice piece of lore behind you.
As any other character, a Death Knight should also choose two primary professions. The choice of professions is solely up to you, however there are a few professions that can match a DK good. When it comes to most of the characters, Enchanting is a nice and useful profession to have because you will be able to enchant your rings. These enchants are available only to the enchanter himself and they are considered to be a good upgrade for any char. A wise choice when it comes to primary professions could also be a combination of Jewelcrafting and Mining. Later on in the game you will be able to obtain better gear which will have more sockets and this is why Jewelcrafting is nice since all of the gems you can make will be improving your char’s stats. If you choose to become a Jewelcrafter you will be able to craft other pieces of gear like rings and necklaces. Blacksmithing is also a good option because you will be able to make plate gear. With BS you can also make sockets for your wrists and gloves and a belt buckle which comes as an additional socket for your belt.
The DK class is very fun to play. A Death Knight class has no down points. The only thing that might bother you is that almost everyone has made a DK simply because you start at level 55 and it is fairly easy to level a char from there on.
